Wildlife in the Area

Mountains reflected on a lake at the Lake District in England

There is an array of wildlife throughout Morecambe & Morecambe Bay. Whether you’re interested in fishing, walking or bird watching there is something for you.

There are several RSPB areas of wildlife in the area including areas of the bay and Leighton Moss located only 15 minutes away. Leighton Moss is home to the largest reed bed in the North-West and attracts spectacular wildlife including otters, bearded tits, marsh harriers, egrets and red deer.

You can also enjoy the many miles of walks, taking in the local wildlife, including the famous fairy steps, Warton Crag or venture a little further and discover the fabulous Ingleborough Caves.

The Morecambe Bay Hotel is the perfect base to explore Morecambe, Lancaster and the surrounding areas.
