The Morecambe Bay Hotel – The ideal place to enjoy and visit

Following what seems like a lifetime in lockdown, the government have introduced measures to further ease lockdown regulations with pubs, hotels and restaurants set to reopen on July 4, after publishing guidance on how to reopen hospitality businesses. With our re-opening on the horizon, we are extremely pleased to be resuming and serving our customers once again, with our primary concern being centred around the health and safety of our staff and visitors. You have our assurance that we will be following the additional guidelines and precautionary safety measures to minimise any risk of Coronavirus contamination and maintain a safe and welcoming environment so that you can relax and enjoy your time here.

With our hotel set to re-open we have complied a short guide of the local area and activities that our potential visitors can enjoy during their break:

Morecambe Bay

Morecambe Bay is an extremely popular tourist destination to visit for locals and visitors alike, especially during the summer months. The Morecambe bay Hotel is located in a prime location along the famous Morecambe Bay coastline, host to golden sandy beaches, amazing coastline views of the Lake District and many popular tourist locations such as the Midland Hotel, Eric Morecambe Statue and Happy Mount Park. There is plenty to see and to do for individuals of all interests and ages during your stay here.

Lancaster Castle

If History is your thing, we highly recommend that you visit the infamous medieval landmark that is Lancaster Castle. Steeped in over 1,000 years of history the castle is home to several stories and tales of persecution, incarceration, punishment and execution. With high-quality guided tours available to book on request it is defiantly a landmark that must not be missed. The castle is easily reachable being just a few minutes’ walk up from the main train station.

Williamson’s Park

Located at the summit of Lancaster hilly peaks, Williamson park is the largest and arguably most picturesque public park not just in Lancaster but in the whole of the north-west. Home to the iconic Ashton Memorial, 54 acres of magnificent parkland and woodland, walkways, sitting areas and breath-taking views of the Morecambe bay coastline and lake district, it is the perfect place to sit and relax. There is also a mini zoo, butterfly house and a fully licensed café with free Wi-Fi. There is certainly something on offer for everyone.

The Forest of Bowland

The Forest of Bowland is the closest national park and certified area of national busty located only a couple of miles east of Lancaster. From its magnificent woodlands, scenic villages and moorlands, the forest of Bowland provides a wealth of local cultural heritage and attractions of all to see and experience. Home to some of the UK’s best routes for walking, cycling, wildlife watching and star gazing the forest of a Bowland is a place you must visit.

Getting Around

Located within easy reach key transport links such as the M6, Heysham Port, and the west coast mainline, Morecambe is extremely accessible and with local train and bus links in abundance getting around the local area is straightforward and convenient.
